California Adventure.  I recall from my marketing days at Alaska Airlines that this park has struggled a bit.  Visit and you'll kind of see why.  There's not a whole lot going on there, and it certainly doesn't have the "magic" of the place across the street.  Ben and I were here a few years ago though, at that time invited by Disney to preview the new Nemo ride in Tomorrowland, and recalled loving Soaring Over California.

Before CA opened we hopped over to D-Land for a 3rd cruise in our new favorite, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.  It broke.  Seriously, we had to get out and walk back to town.  It was actually pretty cool.

Soarin' was as good as we remembered.  Maybe better.  I love that ride.  Couldn't talk Ben into Screamin', but I went.  Best roller coaster there is, hands down.

Los Angeles has the best roller coaster.  As far as I can tell, they also have the best hockey team.  The Kings have the league's best record when the puck drops tonight, and I can see why.  These guys are beautiful to watch.  They pass, they fill lanes, they always know where to be and where their teammates are, they play amazing hockey.  Nashville has had early success this season.  They had no chance in this one.  LA was up 4-0 quickly and skated to a 4-1 win.

Strange thing we saw:  Ben noticed early on that the scoreboard operator didn't seem to know who was playing tonight.  LA.  They fixed it.

We've seen a fair bit of fighting the past two games (common denominator: The Ducks).  The thought of a fight in this game is humorous.  These teams are too good, and they came to play the game, not fight.

I like hockey fans.  They love their sport, and usually have questions about what Ben & I are doing on this adventure.  Tonight the couple from Kansas City is interested in why I'm wearing a St. Louis Blues shirt, and loves the answer.  He knows more about my own team than I do.
